This bulletin relates to the form letters used by many agents which accompany policies when mailed to the insured. Many of these form letters contain references to the Short Term/Reissue Rate which are filed with the Colorado Division of Insurance. References to the Short Term/Reissue Rate could be inadvertently misleading or could contain inaccurate description of these rates and thus could possibly be misconstrued. In order to avoid any perceived or actual violations relating to the Colorado Unfair or Deceptive Trade Practices Act or other applicable laws or regulations, we are asking that all issuing offices in Colorado refrain from references to the Short Term/Reissue Rate in these letters.
