RE: Florida Drivers License

Dear Associates:

We have received a report to the effect that a machine used to produce Florida drivers licenses has been stolen from the Department of Motor Vehicles in Dade County and, therefore, drivers licenses that you may have occasion to receive may appear perfectly authentic and may be forgeries.

Accordingly, you may no longer accept a Florida drivers license alone as identification but you must require some additional form of identification.

There has been a rash or forgeries particularly in the Dade County area with an old pattern, that is, that the closing was proceeded by a Satisfaction of Mortgage within the past year which was not part of a regular transaction and it has ultimately been determined that the Satisfaction of Mortgage was forged.

Accordingly, whenever the chain of title reveals a recent satisfaction not part of a transaction, you must verify the authenticity with the part making the satisfaction.
