The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development recently expanded their website to include 2008 tax statistics for all PA communities.
You can visit the site at www.newpa.com, then click Department of Community and Economic Development, then Municipal Statistics under "Local Government Services", then click "Local Tax Information" then Municipal Tax Information under "2008 Tax Reports."
You will find all 2007 and 2008 Municipal Tax Rates: Transfer Taxes, Local and School tax millages as well as any other tax charges. The tax collectors names, address, telephone number, e-mail address and website are also published.
Although this site does not take the place of a tax certification or tax claim bureau search, it should be helpful in preparing for settlement.
