RE: Jefferson Parish Electronic Filing for Real Property Documents

Dear Associates:

Please be advised that Jon A. Gegenheimer, the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court, has begun accepting real property documents submitted from JeffNet subscribers, pursuant to the authority granted in La. Code of Civil Procedure Art. 258.

Instructions are presently available on the Clerk's website at www.jpclerkofcourt.us. While electronic filing is not required, it became available for use on November 1, 2009. It is required that a JeffNet "account" be established by those wishing to file electronically. An instrument number and a book and page will be assigned to each document when the electronically-filed document has been accepted. In addition, recording fees will be calculated by the computer and verified by the e-filing receiving deputy clerk. Each document should be accompanied by instructions. Your JeffNet account (with credit card) will be debited with each filing according to the advance deposit schedule you select.

The Deputy Clerk in charge of e-file recordation in Jefferson Parish is Mortgage and Conveyance Department Supervisor Cynthia Meador who may be reached at (504) 364-2950.
