RE: Legislative Alert - Increase in Town Clerk Recording Fees Effective July 01, 2009

Dear Associates:

Connecticut Governor Rell has announced she intends to sign Public Act 09-229 after 5pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 and the act will take effect immediately - July 01, 2009.  

Connecticut General Statutes §7-34a has been amended by Public Act 09-229 (Substituted Senate Bill 891) Section 27 increasing the recording fee for the first page of documents on municipal land records by $10.00. The fee for all additional pages per document will remain at $5.00 per page.  

New Document Fees: Deed for Consideration $55.00 first page, $5.00 each additional page; Deed for No Consideration or Non-Conveying Instrument $53.00 first page, $5.00 each additional page.
