RE: New DC Rate Manual

Dear Associates:

On October 28, 2011, the DC Department ofInsurance, Securities and Banking ("DISB") approved our recent rate filing effective as of November 2, 2011. Attached is a copy of the New Approved Rate Manual. In addition, a copy of the Rate Manual will be posted on the local Maryland web site and may be accessed at http://www.stewart.com/maryland. Please destroy all previous copies and versions. In addition, please distribute the Rate Manual to the appropriate Associates within your company.

There are numerous changes to the rates. For example (i) owner's and lender's rates for policies greater than $5,000,000 were reduced, (ii) rates for the Homeowner's Policy were adjusted, and (iii) the charge for Closing Protection Letters was increased to $50.

This is intended to be only a brief summary of the changes. Please review the Rate Manual in detail and make certain that these revised rates are inputted into your title production systems.

As a reminder, agents using AFW should contact PropertyInfo Customer Care to get the new rate changes implemented in their AFW system.
