RE: New Schedule of Charges for New Hampshire

Dear Associates:

 

The State of New Hampshire Department of Insurance has approved for use effective September 1, 2012, a new rate book for New Hampshire. 

The following is a summary of the rate changes effective September 1: 

  1. For the standard loan policy (2006 ALTA Loan Policy), the rate applicable to policy amounts between $501,000 and $5M will increase from $1.50 per thousand to $1.75 per thousand.

  2. For the enhanced loan policy (2008 ALTA Expanded Coverage Residential Loan Policy), the rate applicable to policy amounts between $501,000 and $5M will increase from $1.65 per thousand to $1.925 per thousand (i.e., 10% more than the standard loan policy rate).

  3. A new refinance rate is implemented as follows: 

A refinance rate shall apply to all 1-4 family residential refinance transactions if the property is currently encumbered by a first mortgage held by an institutional lender recorded within the last five (5) years.  The refinance rate is equivalent to 60% of the filed mortgage policy rate. 

You will be receiving a rate manual in the near future. Please contact your software vendor to ensure that your system is updated with the new rates.  AIM users should contact PropertyInfo Customer Care to have the rate changes implemented in their AIM systems.
