On April 15, 2020, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz signed a law that suspends the running of deadlines in the district and appellate courts, including any statutes of limitations or other time periods prescribed by statute. The law is retroactively effective to March 13, 2020, and will expire 60 days after the end of the peacetime emergency declaration or February 15, 2021, whichever is earlier.

Based on this Minnesota law, do not waive or assume a lien, procedural requirement, statute of limitations or other statutory time period has expired if it has not expired before March 13, 2020. Contact a Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriter for further approvals as needed.
