The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG) was hit by a cyber attack over Easter weekend. They are working around the clock to resolve the issues created. The following May 2 announcement details impacted services at this time:

The Unified Government has been working through a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the recent cybersecurity attack on our systems and services. Work to restore services is underway. As of this afternoon, the following services are impacted:

• Delinquent Real Estate: Tax Sale 349 and 350 has been postponed. Please stay tuned for a rescheduled date.
• District Attorney: Some services may be delayed and several trials have been postponed. Please contact Jonathan Carter at 913-573-2849 for any updates.
• District Court: The District Court is currently not accepting e-filings. If you need to file something, please come to the Courthouse (710 N. 7th Street, KCK, 66101) or send your paperwork via fax:

• Human Resources: Posting of new positions may be delayed but please check out the many existing job openings currently on our website.
• Motor Vehicles: You can still submit your renewal online through the myWyco app, drop-off or mail registrations and renewals. If we have processed the renewal in our system, customers will display as “current” when their tags are run (even without the updated sticker). Motor Vehicles is getting caught up on all renewals with about a one business day turnaround on tags.

Customers are now able to go online to book new title registration appointments with appointments resuming Friday, April 29, 2022. With the current backlog while systems were on pause, we anticipate that appointments will fill-up quickly. We appreciate your patience as appointment times may be subject to change.

• Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC): You can still file your building permit but the NRC is unable to print your building permit.
• Procurement: Any bids in process will be delayed. If you have questions about submitting a proposal, you may call 913-573-5440.
• Sheriff's Office: Booking confirmations online are not available. If you have any questions, please call 913-573-2861.
• Treasury: As of Monday, May 2, 2022, The Treasury Department is restored to full operations. Online property tax payments are now available through the myWyco app. You can pay in-person at the Wyandotte County Courthouse (710 N. 7th Street).

Until further notice, the following exception should be included in a commitment for title insurance on property in Wyandotte County:

“Due to the cyberattack at The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG), any policy to be issued will include exception for our inability to access records for District Court, Criminal Court, Probate Court or Limited Actions and taxes."
