RE: UNDERWRITING - Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: New Statutory and Affidavit Requirements Regarding Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Effective October 1, 2023

Dear Associates:

On September 21, 2023, we published a bulletin that outlined changes to Connecticut’s Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Statutory and Affidavit Requirements, effective October 1, 2023 (see Bulletin CT2023002 in the references section, below).

The Office of the State Fire Marshal has prepared a form affidavit to address the statutory changes related to the affidavit discussed in Bulletin CT2023002, which form can be used as of October 1, 2023.

The form affidavit can be found on the CT Realtors website, as follows:
