RE: RATES AND/OR FORMS UPDATE - New/Revised ALTA Form - Effective April 2, 2025

Dear Associates:

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) recently adopted a new/revised endorsement, effective April 2, 2025.

The form is available on Virtual Underwriter in the ALTA Forms List. Per ALTA, the endorsement provides the following coverages and/or includes the following revisions:

NEW/REVISED ALTA ENDORSEMENT

ALTA 28 Endorsement - Damage or Enforced Removal: This endorsement has been revised and updated from the existing 28-06 version. This new version of the endorsement continues to provide coverage for damage to, or forced removal or alteration of, existing buildings caused by the exercise of, use, or maintenance rights associated with specific easements. This revision adds an exclusion to make clear that certain casualty risks do not fall within the scope of coverage of this endorsement.

If requested by the customer, the new/revised ALTA form is immediately available for use in Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. In states where form and/or rate filings are required, we will distribute subsequent state-specific bulletins as the form becomes available.

As a reminder, other forms should not be used if a comparable ALTA version is available. If a comparable ALTA version is available, the most current version of the ALTA form available in your state should be used, unless approved by a Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriter.

This form has been provided to third-party title production system (TPS) vendors. Please contact your TPS vendor or account services representative to have the new/revised form implemented in your system.
