RE: UNDERWRITING - Cybersecurity Event - Iowa County, Wisconsin

Dear Associates:

Iowa County, Wisconsin, has experienced a significant cyberattack. The Register of Deeds is still working diligently to resolve all issues. However, they are in the process of rebuilding their entire land records system with their vendors and do not have an estimated resolution date. They are currently able to accept paper and e-recordings.

As of the date of this bulletin, the land records cannot be adequately searched; therefore, no new orders may be closed at this time.

For transactions where a commitment was already issued with a satisfactory title search, or a recent starter is available, contact your Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STG) underwriter for approval and conditions to close.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly. If you have any questions, including those about transactions that have recently closed or were scheduled to close soon, please call or email your STG underwriters to discuss.

If you have any questions relating to this or other bulletins, please contact a Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriter.
