Explanation:

Purpose Of Endorsement:
In many cases, the General Endorsement is used for the purpose of changing the name of the insured upon assignment of an insured mortgage loan, or to eliminate an exception from Schedule B at a time after the policy has been issued, or to correct an error in the policy.

Underwriting Requirements:

Requirements For Issuance:
(a) This endorsement is used to issue endorsements to modify an existing policy;
(b) No policy issued on a form not approved by the New York State Insurance Department can be updated by endorsement (TIRSA Rate Manual, Part I, Section 4). (This does not mean that an endorsement cannot be used to amend an old policy as of its original date.)

Depends on contents.

Any revision to this form requires approval of a Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriter. The underwriting guidelines contained herein have been provided for general reference. The facts, circumstances, and location of the subject property should be considered when determining the issuance of the requested form or endorsement. Please note that all of the forms and endorsements included in this system may not be available in all states. Accordingly, please contact the appropriate Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriting personnel in order to determine availability.
