Dear Associates:
In light of the recent California fires, Stewart Title Guaranty Company (“STG” or “Company”) is filing a new amended Schedule of Charges and Forms for Title Insurance in the State of California ("STGC Manual"). This STGC Manual is pending California Department of Insurance approval, anticipated to become effective for orders opened on or after April 7, 2025; please post as required. Attached are the links for your convenience. (Click here to view a copy of the “Redline” and the “Accepted” versions.)
There are only two section changes to the STGC Manual; however, there are a few formatting changes and some updates to the Table of Contents accordingly. For your convenience, the following is a list of the substantive changes:
(1) Section 1.12 – Disasters – this section is expanded in light of recent natural disasters. The availability period for the disaster discount rate is extended and the applicability of the disaster discount rate is expanded.
(2) Section 10 – Endorsements:
a. includes and prices the CLTA 144 endorsement (the same as the comparable 2006 version) which was mistakenly never added; and
b. clarification in the footer regarding compliance with underwriting guidelines and bulletins and pricing for the previously added Section 3.14 Expanded Coverage Residential Loan Policy.
